appears to be strongly related to an increased risk of developing lung cancer.
- A growing body of evidence suggests that secondhand smoke causes heart disease.
- Even short-term exposure for as little as 30 minutes may compromise coronary
circulation in nonsmokers.
- Every year in the United Sates 3,000 nonsmokers die of lung cancer and 35,000
die from heart disease as a result of secondhand smoke.
- Exposure to secondhand smoke is associated with an increased risk for sudden
